The Tips of GYTC8S53 Fiber Cable Installation:
Dual-Layer Stripping: Use high-precision stripping tools to remove the outer and inner PE jackets separately. Be careful not to damage the corrugated steel armor or the loose tube during the two-stage stripping process.
Handle Steel Armor Safely: The corrugated steel tape provides excellent crush resistance but can be sharp. Wear protective gloves and ensure the armor is properly trimmed and secured in the splice closure.
Optimized Sag-Tension: Due to the heavier double-jacket design, calculate the aerial sag based on the increased cable weight. Use heavy-duty dead-end clamps suitable for larger figure-8 profiles.
Bending Radius Compliance: Maintain a minimum bending radius of 25 times the cable diameter during installation. The double jacket makes the cable stiffer; avoiding sharp bends is critical to prevent kinking.
System Grounding: Properly bond and ground the steel messenger wire and the internal steel armor. This is vital for lightning protection and electrical safety in long-span aerial deployments.
